About Rebel Phoenix.
Rebel Phoenix Theatre Collective is a new theatre company based in Phoenix, Arizona! Dedicated to producing new, bold, and socially resonant work, Rebel Phoenix was born out of urgency and with a purpose. As a theater collective, our mission is to dedicate ourselves to amplifying the voices of those who are underrepresented—with a focus on Black, queer and other marginalized stories. Stories that are too often left off of mainstream stages, and that aim to challenge perspectives and inspire change through the power and art of theatre. Led by Artistic Director Nat Coe (they/them) and a passionate leadership team with deep roots in the local arts scene, the company is committed to fostering collaboration, accessibility, and inclusivity.
Rebel Phoenix exclusively produces plays written in the last 20 years, maintaining a rolling deadline to ensure every production speaks to the contemporary theatre-goer. The company doesn’t just aim to entertain—it strives to challenge, heal, and inspire through transformative storytelling.
While currently operating without a permanent venue, Rebel Phoenix partners with stages and organizations across the Valley and is working toward establishing a residency by Fall 2025. Through performances and community events and engagement, Rebel Phoenix is building a space where artists and audiences can connect over work that matters.
This isn’t just a theatre company—it’s a movement.
