Rehearsals
Rehearsals will begin August 11th and generally run on Tuesdays and Thursdays 6-9pm or 7-10pm and occasional weekends. Rehearsals will take place in Tempe or Mesa for the majority of the process.

About the Show:
At Rebel Phoenix Theatre Collective, we believe theatre has the power to challenge assumptions, spark conversation, and imagine a better future. Our 2026-27 season, Burn the System, explores what happens when people refuse to accept the world as it is. Through stories of resistance, identity, justice, and belonging, these plays examine the systems that shape our lives and the courage it takes to question them. This cabaret invites performers to explore those same themes through music, creating an evening that celebrates bold voices, personal truth, and the transformative power of art.

Audition Requirements

Prepare 16 bars of a musical theatre song. Selections from the suggested song list are welcome but not required.

Choose a song that showcases your vocal range and strengths as a performer.

Please bring a karaoke/instrumental track.

Be prepared to stay for, or return for, a dance call from 8-9PM.

Wear comfortable clothing that allows for movement and appropriate dance shoes. Character shoes are preferred when applicable.

Kieara Kurtz-Williams [Director]
Kieara is excited to be working with Rebel again, this time in the director’s seat. You may have seen her in Rent as Joanne at Mesa Encore Theatre or as Nelly in RPTC’s incredible production of Stew by Zora Howard. She is thrilled to bring this cabaret to life and raise some money to keep theater alive in Arizona. Break A Leg!
Jeremy Cruz [Choreographer]
Jeremy Cruz is thrilled to make his choreography debut with Rebel Phoenix Theater Collective. He has 20+ years of dance experience while also having cheer/pom and colorguard coaching experience. You may have seen him most recently in The Wizard of Oz at Hale Centre Theatre in the ensemble/dance captain. Other favorites: Paul in A Chorus Line at Theater works. Buttons/dance captain-Newsies HCT, Quartet-Music Man HCT and Jinx-Forever Plaid Desert Stages.
